Everyday heroes- Australian consular officials at Cairo airport got us out of Egypt and safely to Frankfurt inside of 18 hours. Absolute legends.

  2. No mate, it was a Qantas charter flight. I have never been happier in my life to see a flying kangaroo, I can tell you that much!

  4. Anonymous: You are wrong. As travellers present in Egypt at the time of the revolution, it was an inconvenience for us, that's all. Our plans were disrupted, our flights with Egyptair were cancelled with no chance of being refunded and we were evacuated to Frankfurt, a rather uninteresting city in a country we never intended to visit.

    While we were in Egypt I couldn't help but think, great going folks, you are rising up in a democratic display of people power. Good for you. However, since you have tolerated Mubarak for the last 30 years, couldn't you have waited another week until we were out of Egypt!?
